Falconets Of Nigeria Enjoying Egusi And Eba After Canada Win

After their shambolic 6-0 defeat to Japan in their first Group B match, Nigeria Female U-20 team known as the FALCONETS walloped Canada 3-1 at the ongoing FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup in Bava ParkPort Moresby (PNG) Stadium, Papua New Guinea on Wednesday.
One of the girls shared a photo and tagged it this;

Welldone Girls!!! Nice game today. Thank God say my Egusi Soup and Eba no go in vain. Make una chop well well so we go fit beat Spain mercilessly.

Falconets Coach, Peter Dedevbo, was confident that his girls will bounce back from that initial defeat and the players did exactly that. 
Nigeria will play Spain in their next match on Sunday to determine who goes through to the next stage.

Gianni Infantino Arrives Nigeria. FIFA President On A 2-Day Visit

FIFA President Gianni Infantino, accompanied by Secretary-General Fatma Samoura, arrive Abuja on a two-day visit to Nigeria.

Nigeria's Basketball Team Denied Visa By Spanish Embassy Ahead Of Tournament

Nigeria's women basketball team which is meant to play at the (2016 FIBA U17 Women's World Championship) in Zaragoza, Spain -were denied visa by the Spanish embassy. According to online reports, the roster of Nigeria at the tournament could not be verified as they failed to turn up to the technical meeting. Pictured below are the dejected players after the visa denial.

FIFA Remembers Sunday Oliseh’s Stunner On June 13th At The 1998 World Cup



From a losing position, Nigeria grabbed a 3-2 win over Spain courtesy a stunning long range shot from Sunday Oliseh that left Spain goalkeeper Zubizarreta perplexed 12 minutes from time. MANCHESTER UNITED SIGN ERIC BAILLY

Manchester United is delighted to announce that Eric Bertrand Bailly has completed his transfer from Villarreal CF, subject to successfully obtaining a work permit. Eric joins on a four-year contract with the option to extend for a further two years.

Bailly, 22, made 47 appearances for Villarreal since joining on 29 January 2015. The Ivory Coast central defender has made 15 appearances for his country and was part of the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations-winning team, having appeared in all six matches during the competition.

Bailly said: "It is a dream come true to be joining Manchester United. To play football at the highest level is all I have ever wanted to do.

"I want to progress to be the best that I can be and I believe working with Jose Mourinho will help me develop in the right way and at the right club. I am looking forward to meeting my new team-mates and to starting this new chapter of my life."

Mourinho said: "Eric is a young central defender with great natural talent. He has progressed well to date and has the potential to become one of the best around.

"We look forward to working with him to help nurture that raw talent and fulfil his potential. Eric is at the right club to continue his development."

Chelsea football Club of England reacted to the death of former Super Eagles coach , Stephen Keshi , in a tweet earlier this morning . Mikel and Moses who play for Chelsea Football Club were part of Stephen Keshi's team in the title winning AFCON campaign in 2013 and the World Cup in 2014 . May his soul continue to rest in peace , Amen .

SO SAD - Stephen Keshi Died Of Cardiac Arrest - Family

The family of Coach Stephen Keshi, former Nigerian football coach who died early today in Benin, Edo state has issued a statement confirming his death.

The family also revealed that the 54 year old former Nigerian defender and captain had planned to travel out of Nigeria today back to his US base, before he had a sudden cardiac arrest and died.

The statement was issued by Emmanuel Ado, brother and aide to the late Keshi:



“With thanksgiving to God, the Ogbuenyi Fredrick Keshi family of Illah in Oshimili North Local Government Area of Delta State, announces the death of Mr. Stephen Okechukwu Chinedu Keshi.”

“Our son, brother, father, father-in-law, brother-in-law, has gone to be with his wife of 35 years (Nkem ), Mrs. Kate Keshi, who passed on on the 9th December 2015.

“Since her death, Keshi has been in mourning. He came back to Nigeria to be with her. He had planned to fly back today Wednesday, before he suffered a cardiac arrest. He has found rest.”

The U.J. Esuene Stadium in Calabar has been granted the hosting right for the Saturday June 11, African Cup of Nations qualifier between the Flying Eagles of Nigeria against Burundi.
A letter conveying the granting of the hosting right to the Governor of Cross River State, Senator Ben Ayade was presented to the State Commissioner for Youths and Sports, Asu Okang yesterday at the Glass House National Secretariat of the Nigeria Football Federation NFF, Abuja.
